10 Social Media Marketing Predictions for 2025
As the landscape of social media marketing continues to evolve, staying ahead of trends is crucial for brands seeking to maintain relevance and drive engagement. Recently, I’ve read countless prediction articles, watched (maybe) hours of TikTok content from industry leaders, and drawn from my personal experience of working with over 20 brands this year on their social media. So, I decided to put my own predictions together for 2025. Let’s get into it…
1. Going Live on Social Media
Individuals (and small business owners) are seeing great returns from going live - why aren’t brands? Typically they don’t know how or what to talk about - because most likely selling like a HSN commercial wont
How? One way we are working with our brands is having the influencer go live on our behalf - tapping into our network of influencers and brand ambassadors to go live on our account.
2. Creating UnHinged Brand Videos on TikTok
2025 is embracing the unfiltered, chaotic energy of TikTok (even more than 2024 did).
3. Vibe Content
Storytelling isn’t everything these days - sometimes a vibe is just enough.
4. Gatekeepers
The rise of "gatekeeper" content, leverages scarcity and exclusivity. This tactic plays on FOMO by presenting products or experiences as insider secrets.
How? If you were (or still are) a Gary Vee fan - you know how much he promotes giving away value. What are you (or your industry) holding onto that you can share?
5. 2+ People in Video Content
Everyone is working with creators to own their content these days - but are you seeing what really engages people? Typically it’s people interacting with other people (especially strangers).
How? We are pulling a lot of creators from Home From College for our brands to get street style content for the low
6. Aesthetic Matters
Why? Gone is the days of finding a UGC creator with a great personality - location, location, location is important too. Can they have a call set up? Have a stunning kitchen? Or live in a beautiful city? Start paying attention to these things when hiring creators (and influencers).
7. IRL Connections
Events are back! If you remember pre-covid, IRL events not only build real connections with your customers, but can drive social impressions to.
8. Owning Multiple TikTok Accounts
Diversifying your TikTok presence, is becoming a go-to strategy. By managing multiple accounts, brands can experiment with different personas, target niche audiences, or test varied content styles.
9. Social Listening and Pushing for Comments
Listening to your audience and encouraging engagement is a timeless yet evolving tactic. Social listening allows brands to tap into trends, address pain points, and craft content that resonates. Driving content for comments on your own posts as well can start a content funnel for your brand.
10. Leaning into Creators and What They Can Best Offer You
Creators are the lifeblood of social media, and 2025 will see brands giving them more freedom to shine. Instead of overly scripted collaborations, allow creators to showcase your product in ways that align with their personal style. We have been pushing this - but it’s becoming more clear you need to work with super NICHE creators.
The social media landscape in 2025 is poised for bold experimentation, deeper connections, and a focus on authenticity. From embracing unhinged humor on TikTok to investing in IRL moments, these trends offer CPG brands a roadmap for success (but let me know if you are finding success elsewhere). See you in 2025 👋
