Growing Your Social Presence On A Budget
Brands come to us everyday asking what will be the fastest way to growth - typically considering they need to get the most out of their budget.
Here is what we typically suggest when it comes to growing on social media:
Paid Advertising with Emails/Content/Etc.
This is the fastest way to growth - paying to get into people’s feeds. When first kicking off you really want to drive website traffic and gain an email address so you can get them into your marketing funnel. We typically suggest starting on one channel with $3-5k for the first month and scaling from there with 8-12 assets to test (and updating monthly)
Static Social Profiles Set Up
Most brands without funding may not have the funds to put into organic social - this takes time to build and grow on - unless you get an amazing content creator who can take you viral. This can be scary to invest a lot in up front so we suggest developing content to keep something interesting on your profiles. If you can schedule some evergreen content for the first 2-3 months that is great!
PS If you have the team for it - posting EGC is a great move.
UGC
This is key - other than paid ads, this is a great way to have constant content showing up for your brand on social media. You can work with people individually but you may get the most bang for your buck by working with a tool like Mini Social. We suggest at least 10 videos a month.
Influencers
Another one that may be scary to spend on as the results are not guaranteed. But one thing to consider is - the impressions will be there and you are gaining content you can use. For influencers and UGC I highly suggest making sure you can also use that content on your paid ads.
Social Listening
This is essentially a free way (just your time) to grow - engaging (leaving comments) on relevant content on Instagram and especially TikTok videos - these comments can go just as viral as videos. A goal to keep in mind as you start is 75 relevant comments per week.
Down the road:
Brand Partnerships - A great way to grow is partnering with brands on content and giveaways (even collaborative products). It may be hard to start with this out of the gate as the brands will want you to have your own following first. However you may can leverage your product, email list, and that you will support the content with paid ads. Otherwise start looking into partnerships once you hit at least 5k followers on Instagram.
