How To: Setting Up Your TikTok Shop

Setting up a TikTok Shop is a game-changer for consumer brands looking to boost sales and connect directly with their audience. TikTok has evolved beyond a social app for fun videos into a powerful marketplace where consumers discover and purchase products with just a few taps. In this how to, we will walk you through the steps to get your brand’s TikTok Shop up and running.

Tik Tok Shop Set Up

Follow the guided set up at the top of the following screen

  • When you click the “connect account” it’ll take you to a sign in or sign up screen. If you don’t have a seller account - begin the set up.

In order to set up a TikTok Seller Account you will need some information to provide in order to get approved.

  • Business Type

  • Company Name

  • Employer Identification Number (EIN)

  • Government-Issued Business Registration Documents

  • Business License

  • If the business is a corporation

    • Government-issued ID for the legal representative, company director, or a person with significant control

    • Will also need Name, Residential Address, and Last 4 of SSN of beneficiary of company

Once the shop is set up and registered you can make edits to the shop in the Shopify TikTok Sales Channel…

On the “SETTINGS” tab:

  • Most important tab

  • Here you can link your TikTok Ads Manager, Business Manager, Targeting Locations (probably needs to be only US as shops are only allowed in US), Payment Methods (for billing purposes)

  • Data Sharing - connect your TikTok pixel and set to “maximum” data level selection

  • Shopify In-app Checkout - this is the whole purpose of “shops”. The significance of shops is to allow users to checkout within the app which minimizes the amount of clicks between a purchase conversion. Would recommend setting this up as it’ll enable organic as well as paid conversions.

On the “OVERVIEW” tab:

  • You can manage the shop from the “TikTok Shop” widget (takes you to tiktok)

  • You can add or remove synced products from the “Product Status on TikTok” widget

On the “SHOP MANAGEMENT” tab:

  • This is basically the exact same tool as being logged in through TikTok shops

  • Here you can do basically everything - might take a screen share session to teach and show this whole tab

  • Worth clicking around and familiarizing with

Ways to use shops organically:

  • Profile Link: Add a link to your TikTok Shop in your bio to make it easy for users to find your products

  • Product Tagging: Tag your products in your videos so viewers can easily click and purchase directly from the content

  • Live Shopping: Host live shopping events where you showcase products in real-time. Engage with viewers by answering questions and offering exclusive discounts during the live

  • Influencer Partnerships: Collaborate with influencers who align with your brand to reach a broader audience. Influencers can create content that features your products and drives traffic to your TikTok Shop

  • Affiliate Marketing: Set up an affiliate program where influencers can earn a commission on sales generated through their content
